History of Table FootballTable football, also known as foosball, is a table-top version of soccer invented by Alejandro Finisterre from Galicia, Spain. Finisterre was injured in the Spanish Civil War as a child and, unable to play football as he would have liked, he came up with the idea of a football table - an indoor version of the game that could be played without feet. Finisterre patented the idea in 1937 but unfortunately lost the documentary evidence of this while escaping from Spain in a storm during the time of the Spanish fascist coup. Therefore the football tables idea was soon being marketed by other entrepeneurs and he lost out on making his fortune.
