Folding Bagatelle
Masters Traditional Games advertises old games table for private sellers, putting buyers in touch with sellers for a very reasonable fee. If you have an old game, that you would like to sell, try advertising it on our website. A longer advertising period has a greater chance of attracting the right buyer than selling via a short-term auction. It's no sale, no fee so there's nothing to lose. See our Terms and Conditions. During the Victorian and Edwardian tables, Bagatelle was a very popular game and the parlour version of the game usually came as a beautiful folding Mahogany cabinet. This one is 8ft long by 2ft.4 feet wide when unfolded which is larger than usual. The table comes with the original ivory balls - 1 black, 4 red and 4 white. It includes a highly desireable 8 arch bridge board which can optionally be used to play games such as Mississippi and La Trou Madame. And it also comes with a cue and a mace - it is quite rare for a Victorian Bagatelle table to still retain the original mace and cue so this example is a quite unusualy complete and special item. The table is made from solid Mahogany with brass catches and a brass lock and inlaid scoring strips along each side. There is no key but this shouldn't be an issue because the 2 brass retaining catches are still in place and work fine. Manufacturer is unknown. The baize cloth is in reasonable condition although there is one small fingernail size tear in one place. The buyer may wish to re-cover the table at some point but, if not, the tear should not affect game-play.
